DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING SCHOOL

HOUSING

You will be staying in dorm style housing on our lovely rural campus of 2.2 acres surrounded by farm land and 25 minutes from downtown Les Cayes.

CLASS

Lecture phase engages the mind. You will receive powerful teaching from motivating speakers meant to provoke, challenge, and encourage. Topics like 'Hearing the Voice of God', 'Identity', 'Sin and Forgiveness', and much more are discussed.

PRACTICAL WORK

A key part of character development is serving those around us. A part of DTS is working to keep the YWAM campus functioning, while teaching teamwork and dedication. Whether it is gardening, cleaning, or something else, this side of DTS helps you become a part of the community of YWAM around you.

ONE-ON-ONES

These times will allow you to process what you’re learning about God in a safe environment.

One-on-ones are usually held with a DTS staff member, someone who is with you throughout the entire lecture phase. It is their goal to help you grow through mentorship and counsel.

SKILL TRAINING

Learn directly from professionals how to do skilled labor to a level of excellence and to the glory of God. Practically this could look like missions teaching in the mornings and skill training several afternoons a week. There will be at least one skill trade offered with a potential of up to 3 options. DTS students will choose one skill to focus on during the program. 

Outreach is an intense 2 month journey to change the world with what you have been equipped with during the lecture phase. Our focus as a campus is the Caribbean; DTS's come alongside this focus spending time on outreach here in Haiti and another country.

LOCAL MINISTRY

Personal transformation leads to the transformation of community. You will have a chance to make a difference in the surrounding society through ministries in our local area.

CROSS-CULTURAL

The diversity of culture is a beautiful expression of the kingdom of God. We aim to step outside each persons own culture, whether it's language, location or lifestyle. Our hope is that in this each DTSer will see God move through them in their weakness' and how our faith is global; not bound by race, nationality or anything else.

EVANGELISM & MERCY

YWAM is called to make God known throughout the whole world, and into every arena of society through evangelism, training and mercy ministries. We firmly believe in proclaiming the Gospel so that every person can hear the truth and freedom. We will also serve the Haitian people in their physical needs aiming to be courageous hands and feet for Christ.

DEBRIEF

By the time outreach ends, you will have seen and experienced a lot of new things. This is why our DTS holds a debrief time at the end of outreach. It is a time to regroup, share stories of how God moved, and process what God did through you and others during the DTS. It’s also a time to explore your next steps after DTS.
